Telefonica invests in wearable tech startup

Telefonica has paid out EUR 60,000 for a 7 percent stake in Spanish wearable technology startup FirstV1sion, which has created a T-shirt with an embedded camera to be worn by sports players and referees. The startup is being supported by Wayra, Telefonica's accelerator, and hopes to raise up to EUR 5 million on crowdfunding platform BankToTheFuture, according to the Financial Times. The device developed by FirstV1sion gives sports fans the player's point of view as well as feedback on the player for the team to monitor. It has been tested by Barcelona football team players during training
