Telefonica launches amateur e-sports tournament

Telefonica has teamed up with e-sports company ESL to launch an amateur electronic sports tournament for League of Legends teams dubbed "Movistar esports Arena". The tournament qualifiers will be held on 03 February on ESL Play with the final to take place in the Fan Zone during the final stage of the King's Cup basketball tournament in Vitoria on 18 February. Telefonica recently signed an agreement with ESL to launch a dedicated channel called Movistar eSports as well as an e-sports club called Movistar Riders.
