Telefonica launches call for personal data research projects

Telefonica has launched a global call for research projects examining the use of personal data online, offering grants of up to EUR 50,000 for the ten best proposals. The grants are being offered via the Data Transparency Lab, an initiative set up by the company's research and development arm, Telefonica I+D, together with Mozilla, MIT Media Lab, the Open Data Institute and the University of Surrey's Centre for the Digital Economy. The grants are aimed at funding research in fields that will give consumers greater control over how their data is treated in a more open World Wide Web. Proposals
