Telefonica live streams basketball game in 5G-powered demo

Telefonica teamed up with the companies VREstudio and Linos to live stream a basketball game between Barcelona and Valencia using 5G technology and Augmented Reality (AR). The match, part of the Telefonica-sponsored Copa del Rey tournament in Malaga, was transmitted in real time via a 5G network to a sports centre located close to the Martin Carpena arena. The public was able to follow footage captured by three 360-degree cameras with HTC Vive standalone and Oculus Quest headsets.
