Telefonica Mexico is promoting the Drive Responsibly campaign, aimed at preventing car accidents. In Mexico 18,000 people die from these mishaps, according to the Red Cross, while globally 1.5 million people die from the same cause, according to WHO. Telefonica is implementing this campaign through social networks, seeking to encourage motorists to avoid accidents when driving. According to the National Council for Accident Prevention (Conapra), the risk of having an accident for people who use mobile phones while driving is about four times higher.
