Telefonica picks Caringo software for cloud storage service

Object storage provider Caringo has announced that Telefonica has selected its software-defined object storage product, Swarm, as the foundation for a global cloud storage service. With multiple petabyte growth forecasts over the next few years, Telefonica required an enterprise cloud storage service that could meet its aggressive growth plans while offering the most flexible data protection, compliance and data access services. The Spanish operator has already deployed a Caringo-based platform at its Alcala data centre on the outskirts of Madrid, one of the world's few data centres with Tier
