Telefonica runs 'hackathon' event to develop emergency apps

Telefonica has announced the launch of the first hackathon under its Talentum programme to develop apps for use in emergency situations. The company has teamed up with Madrid's ASEM 112 emergency agency for the contest, which will take place at Telefonica's Las Tablas HQ on 08 and 09 June. The first two ranked teams that develop the most innovative and viable apps and services for the resolution of catastrophes and emergency situations will be awarded prizes of EUR 6,000 and 3,000 respectively.
