Telefonica says 2.5GHz Mexican tender prices 'too expensive'

Spanish operator Telefonica has confirmed its interest in taking part in the forthcoming tender for spectrum in the 2.5GHz frequency band in Mexico but is only prepared to bid if the minimum price is lowered, reports Expansion, citing Telefonica Mexico network director Omar Calvo. The company is prepared to bid on one or two of the available blocks as long as the price is lower than that paid by Telcel (America Movil) and AT&T in the AWS tender held last year.
