Telefonica supports artificial cornea research

Telefonica has signed an agreement with Spain's Ophthalmological Research Foundation (FIO) to support research into advanced therapies and tissue engineering to create artificial corneas. The ultimate aim of the research, to be conducted in the Fernández-Vega Ophthalmological Institute, is to produce artificial corneas via lab-grown cells, helping restore vision to patients with corneal blindness.
