Telefonica to close 48 more ADSL exchanges this year

Wednesday 1 February 2017 | 13:12 CET | News
Telefonica will this year proceed to close down 48 more ADSL exchanges that are no longer in use due to the expansion of its FTTH network, according to Spain's telecom regulator CNMC. At the end of January, the operator had shut down 20 plants all over the country, a figure that's set to increase to 68 by the end of 2017 as the company and rival operators continue the process of switching from copper to fibre.
