Telefonica Vivo to expand broadband to 500 cities

The president of Telefonica Vivo, Eduardo Navarro, has welcomed the permission granted by the Brazilian Court of Audit (TCU) for the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) to exchange fines imposed for investments in the industry (so-called Terms of Adjustment of Conduct – TAC). He said that this decision would "open the door" for a set of fines to be converted into investments in the expansion of broadband in regions lacking coverage indicated by Anatel, instead of becoming judicial processes that would drag for decades, reports O Estado de Sao Paulo.
