Telefonica, Vodafone ask govt to accelerate digital dividend

Spanish operators Telefonica and Vodafone Spain have called on the government to set a specific date for the opening up of the 800 MHz frequencies currently used by TV stations. Telefonica Spain's president Luis Miguel Gilperez said they believed it necessary to have the 800 MHz frequencies as soon as possible, adding that a specific date was essential for operators because of the investment planning required. Vodafone Spain's president, Francisco Roman, also stressed that it was important that Spain does not fall behind in the race for advanced 4G, for which the 800 MHz band is required, and
