Telekom Austria drops out of race for SBB/Telemach - report

Friday 2 August 2013 | 10:43 CET | News
Telekom Austria has dropped out of the race for Balkan cable and satellite group SBB/Telemach, claims Vienna-based economic daily Wirtschaftsblatt. The paper, citing multiple unnamed sources, said that the Austrian company has not passed the first stage, as it had submitted the lowest bid of all. In the race for the cable/DTH operators, only four interested bidders remain, and they are mainly private funds. SBB/Telemach is worth an estimated EUR 700-800 million.
