Telekom Austria Q1 revenues down 0.6%, net profit higher

Telekom Austria Group reported first-quarter revenues down 0.6 percent from a year earlier to EUR 1.05 billion. Austrian revenues were down 3.7 percent to EUR 380 million and Bulgarian revenues were also lower, while the operator showed stable to higher sales in its other markets. Comparable EBITDA dropped 6.8 percent to EUR 336.9 million, hurt by higher costs for promoting smartphones and premium services as well as termination rate cuts. Due to lower amortization and depreciation charges as well as lower interest expense, net profit increased by 18.4 percent to EUR 55.5 million. Capital
