Telekom Malaysia to power govt's national fiberisation plan

State-run operator Telekom Malaysia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tenaga Nasional to jointly develop a strategy for the government's nationwide fiberisation plan, Nikkei reports. The synergies are expected to enable an efficient cost structure, and further accelerate the fibre broadband network reach. The proposed network will also continue the existing open access participation of industry players to promote private sector competition in retail broadband, Telekom Malaysia said.
