Telekom rolls out 1800 MHz-based LTE to South Germany

Deutsche Telekom has deployed a LTE network based on 1,800 MHz band frequencies in the Southern German cities of Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Friedrichshafen, Stuttgart, Heilbronn, Heidelberg, Mannheim and Pforzheim. The network enables download speeds up to 100 Mbps in the city centre. The network is part of Telekom's goal to deploy 1,800 MHz spectrum in 100 German cities this year. The network will be expanded to other cities during the coming months.
