Telekom sees 500,000 hacker attacks a day in security centre

Monday 11 May 2015 | 16:55 CET | News
Deutsche Telekom registers at least 500,000 hacker attacks on business and private routers, PCs and smartphones per day, according to the operator's security chief Thomas Tschersich cited by German magazine Der Spiegel. He said that those figures are measure by Telekom's Cyber Defense Center in Bonn. The attacks on private devices have been growing since a couple of months. The operator plans to expand its battle against these attacks partnering with Intel. The cooperation will see an existing so-called honeypot network being enhanced with better sensors and more professional equipment.
