Telenor appeals against Nkom penalty for loss of service

Tuesday 15 September 2015 | 13:28 CET | News
Norwegian communications regulator Nkom said it stands by its decision to impose a penalty of NOK 9 million against Telenor Norway for loss of service on 30 October 2014. Telenor appealed to the Ministry of Transport against the fine and Nkom has proposed that the ministry should uphold its decision. Nkom says that Telenor's routine procedures to reduce the risk of faults were insufficient. Telenor said in its appeal that the fault was a result of human error, and occurred despite established risk analyses and procedures.
