Telenor CEO sees opportunities for sharing customer data

Telenor is treading on the stomping ground of internet giants such as Google and Facebook developing the link between people's digital and physical personas. The Norwegian operator told US public broadcaster npr.org that it developed a fingerprint ID system for Sim cards after a December 2014 terrorist attack in Peshawar, Pakistan. Telenor created a very solid link between the Sim card and the user's identity. The system works well in Asia and in markets where low banking penetration.
