Telenor defends marketing of Swap phone instalment offer

Telenor has defended its mobile phone offer 'Swap' to the consumer ombudsman, saying the marketing is not misleading. Following the launch of the offer for instalment payments for phones in June, the ombudsman sent the operator a letter saying it was concerned about the use of terms such as 'free', when the prices appeared to be higher on the instalment plans than with outright purchases of phones. Telenor replied in a latter dated 15 August from its law firm, Aftenbladet.no reports. The company said it is clear what is included in the price, and there is no question of charging interest. It
