Telenor eyes fibre expansion after government changes excavation rules

Thursday 30 November 2017 | 11:49 CET | News
Telenor Norway has welcomed the government's decision to change regulations for excavation work in order to make broadband expansion more efficient. CEO Berit Svendsen said this will enable it to speed up broadband and 4G extension in 2018, adding that the operator is aiming for 40 percent of the broadband market in 2020. The operator has already started reviewing cases where laying fibre would not have been viable under the old rules, such as Raufoss, Moss and Sarpsborg.
