Telenor invests NOK 12 mln in Svalbard's capital

Telenor Norway said Longyearbyen, the capital of the island of Svalbard, is one of the world's most advanced digital communities as it has provided the settlement with fibre optic and mobile infrastructure. Telenor Norway said Longyearbyen is a town in miniature, with some 100 businesses and about 2,100 inhabitants, making it ideal for pilot schemes. Residential customers got fibre in 2010 and businesses in 2013. Since 2009, Telenor Norway has invested NOK 12.1 million in the works
