Telenor Norway brings in SAFE identity protection range for broadband and mobile users

Wednesday 15 January 2020 | 12:18 CET | News

Telenor Norway has announced a new service called SAFE to protect broadband and mobile users against identity theft. According to a survey by Kantar TNS, 54 percent of Norwegians worry about ID theft. SAFE costs NOK 129 per month and is available to anyone over the age of 18, whether or not they are a Telenor customer.

There are three products in the SAFE range, namely SAFE Wi-Fi, SAFE Identity Watch and SAFE ID Theft Insurance. SAFE Identity Watch monitors up to five payment cards and five e-mail addresses. SAFE ID Theft Insurance covers the customer, spouse or partner as well as any offspring up to the age of 20 who live at the same address. SAFE Wi-Fi is a VPN service providing a secure line when using a public hotspot.

The whole package enables users to protect their card information and e-mail addresses. It issues an alert if anyone has tried to share the customer's information online.

Customers will be able to use their mobile phone on unsecured wireless networks anywhere in the world. If anyone does misuse personal details, then SAFE will provide legal advice and financial compensation. It will also assist in getting sensitive information and images removed.
