Telenor Norway plans appeal against EUR 112 mln ESA fine for mobile broadband price squeeze

Tuesday 30 June 2020 | 13:41 CET | News
Telenor said it will appeal against an EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) fine of nearly EUR 112 million for anti-competitive practices. An ESA probe has found that Telenor abused its market dominance by pricing that resulted in rivals making a loss when selling residential mobile broadband services on tablets and laptops. The margin squeeze prevented rivals from competing viably from 2008 to the end of 2012 in what was then an evolving and fast-growing market, said ESA.
