Telenor Norway reports rise in DDoS attacks in 2019

Thursday 27 February 2020 | 13:17 CET | News
Telenor Norway said it recorded 3,825 Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks in 2019, which was an increase from the year before. Ove Fredheim, head of the enterprise services segment, said the most common reason for DDoS attacks was attempted financial extortion. The largest attack in 2019 had a volume of more than 257 Gbps and lasted for eighteen minutes, which security director Hanne Tangen Nilsen said could be enough to disable even a large corporation.
