Telenor Norway warns against lax mobile phone security

Monday 17 March 2014 | 11:57 CET | News
One in two Norwegians does not use an automatic lock on her or his mobile phone, said Telenor Norway, citing a study it commissioned from Norstat. Employees who do not lock their devices could make e-mail, sales tools, corporate applications and confidential information available to unauthorised personnel, said Stein C Tommer, head of mobile security at Telenor Business. The automatic locking function is activated when the handset is out of use for a while, and it can be unlocked using a PIN.
