Telenor taps G&D for NFC project in Norway

Telenor, in partnership with Norwegian bank DNB, is launching a commercial NFC project in Norway. Technology group Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) is providing the OTA NFC service for the mobile network operator, supporting remote management of the secure element in mobile phones to enable contactless payment as well as the NFC SIM cards. Following the Tap2Pay pilot project launched in Oslo in 2011, Telenor is now working with DNB to expand the scope of the scheme.
