Telenor, Telia win 1,800 MHz band auction in Norway

Thursday 3 December 2015 | 16:58 CET | News
Telenor and TeliaSonera have won the 1,800 MHz band spectrum up for auction in Norway, after seven days of bidding. The regulator Nkom sold the three blocks of frequencies remaining from the 4G auction in 2013. Ice Norway also participated in the latest bidding, but did not acquire spectrum. Telenor will pay NOK 585.3 million (EUR 63.1 million) for 2x10 MHz, and TeliaSonera Norway will pay NOK 292.7 million for 2x5 MHz. The winning bidders will have until 20 January to negotiate their places in the band.
