Televisa acquires part of Axtel's fibre business for MXN 4.7 bln

Mexican broadcaster and cable TV provider Grupo Televisa has announced the acquisition of Axtel's residential FTTH business and related assets in Mexico City, Zapopan, Monterrey, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosi and Ciudad Juarez for a total of MXN 4.71 billion. The assets include 553,226 revenue generating units, consisting of 97,622 video, 227,802 broadband, and 227,802 voice RGUs. Televisa added that revenues associated with these assets came to MXN 1.9 billion over the period dating from Q3 2017 to Q3 2018, with income at around MXN 631 million.
