Telia offers ImagineCare chronic health condition monitoring in Sweden

Tuesday 17 April 2018 | 13:23 CET | News

Telia Company said it is tying up with Swedish digital health treatment service provider ImagineCare to offer remote patient monitoring and individualised chronic care management. Initially, the partnership will target the Swedish market. Telia said it will offer ImagineCare to its customers as part of an integrated e-health service offering during 2018.

David Kruse, CEO of ImagineCare, said they will combine ImagineCare’s unique product with Telia’s strong competence and market position. The ImagineCare products measure patients’ vital readings and shares their data instantly through a mobile application. Doctors, nurses and health coaches are connected to the platform to support the patient from a call centre managed by either the provider or ImagineCare.

For the healthcare provider, working with ImagineCare improves the capabilities of interaction, follow-up and prevention. This increases patient engagement and improves treatment results, thereby cutting costs and improving patient satisfaction, it said. ImagineCare has been piloted by a number of healthcare providers and county councils in Sweden since the fourth quarter of 2017.

Nina Bake, head of digital health at Telia Division X, said chronic disease currently accounts for more than 80 percent of the total medical spending in Sweden. ImagineCare said its product has been based on pioneering research in behavioural change and patient service. Through the cloud, it uses automation and analytics to enhance treatment, without replacing human interaction.
