Telia, Telenor merge grids in Denmark's Zealand region

Telia said it is merging its network on the island of Lolland, in Zealand region, with that of Telenor, providing customers with a 40 percent increase in the number of transmitters. The company said the result will be Denmark's most finely meshed network. In the area around Nakskov on Lolland, tests showed a 22 percent reduction in dropped calls, a 20 percent rise in indoors coverage in geographic terms and a 9 percent rise on population coverage terms. Data capacity has increased, too.
