TeliaSonera admits shortcomings in Uzbekistan investment

An independent report commissioned by TeliaSonera into its investments in Uzbekistan has found the company fell short in its ethical obligations but cleared the group of allegations of bribery and money-laundering. TeliaSonera's board hired last October the law firm Mannheimer Swartling to investigate whether TeliaSonera's investment in a Uzbekistan mobile operator in 2007 involved corruption or money laundering. While the law firm's report did not find any substance to the allegations of bribery and money laundering, a separate investigation by the Swedish Prosecution Authority is still
