Telit to buy GainSpan for USD 8 mln

Telit Communications has agreed to acquire GainSpan for USD 8 million in cash. GainSpan designs and manufactures ultra-low power Wi-Fi systems-on-chip and modules for battery and line-powered devices. It also owns the intellectual property in network stacks, system and application software it has developed. The acquisition is expected to enhance Telit's portfolio of IoT products and services. Telit said that much more rapid and significant growth is expected for short-range connectivity services for the IoT, mainly Wi-Fi.
