Telkom looks to slash supplier bill

South Africa operator Telkom plans to reduce procurement costs by "as much as possible" over a three-year period after paying more than half its revenue to suppliers in 2013, Bloomberg reports, Telkom had about 2,400 suppliers in the year through March, with 23 sharing 80 percent of the ZAR 17 billion outlay, Chief Procurement Officer Ian Russell said at the operator's investors day. Telkom reported revenue of ZAR 32.5 billion in the period.
