Telkom Q1 revenue rises 1.7% to ZAR 6.5 bln

South African fixed line operator Telkom reported a 1.7 percent net revenue increase in the first three months to 30 June to ZAR 6.5 billion in a difficult operating environment with significant pricing pressures. The rise was partly offset by the continuing decline in fixed line voice usage caused by mobile substitution, and falling leased line revenues as customers migrate to newer and cheaper technologies.
