Telkom says merger with Airtel will go ahead despite ethics probe

Thursday 29 August 2019 | 10:30 CET | News
Telkom Kenya CEO Mugo Kibati has expressed confidence over the merger with Airtel Kenya despite news of a probe by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), reports The Standard. Kibati said the probe has nothing to do with the deal and that the merger is likely to materialise before the end of 2019, not the end of August as earlier reported. Kibati said it welcomes the current investigations and is willing to cooperate with the EACC, denying that managers are being investigated.
