Telkom, union strike deal on restructuring process

South African operator Telkom said it reached a consensus with the union so the current restructuring process can proceed. In a statement, the operator said the deal was reached after extensive facilitated consultations and deliberations where its management and labour resolved to proceed with the process. Further details on the employees affected and terms of the retrenchment plan will be discussed the first week of August.
