Telkom warns of 40% slump in H1 earnings

South Africa's Telkom says it expects earnings for the six months ended September to decrease by as much as 40 percent. Headline earnings per share are expected to be 30-40 percent lower than the prior year at between ZAR 2.02 and ZAR 1.73 per share. On a normalised basis, it expects HEPS 40-50 percent lower. Basic earnings per share are anticipated to be 30 percent to 40 percent worse than in 2018, at between ZAR 1.93 and ZAR 1.66.
