Telmex loses MXN 1.2 bln in Q1 due to regulatory changes

Telmex lost a total of MXN 1.95 billion in the first quarter of the year due to the elimination of charges for domestic long-distance calls from 01 January 2015, reports El Financiero. Telmex reported Q1 revenues of MXN 25.19 billion, around 4.5 percent down on the year-earlier period due primarily to the regulatory change. The operator's net profit for the quarter was MXN 1.08 billion, a 51.2 percent decline compared to the same period of 2014.
