Telmex's licence at risk due to interconnection regulation

Thursday 9 April 2015 | 14:32 CET | News
Mexican fixed line telephony operator Telmex, owned by America Movil, could lose its concession for refusing to follow Mexican telecoms watchdog's IFT regulation on interconnection points, El Financiero reports. The potential sanction could be adopted as Telmex failed to interconnect local telephony firm Tele Facil to its network infrastructure. Tele Facil obtained a concession to offer triple play services over América Móvil's network in 2013. However, following negotiations between the two operators, the interconnection process was never implemented.
