Telstar introduces Gateway Pro with 4x4 Wi-Fi

Tuesday 15 March 2016 | 08:42 CET | News
Telstra announced its new Gateway Pro, developed with Netgear and Broadcom for small business customers. The Australian carrier said this is the world's first gateway using Broadcom's 4x4 Wi-Fi 802.11ac chipset. It offers dual-band connectivity over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, Wave 2 Wi-Fi 11 AC technology and MU-MIMO capability with 4x4 antennas and a dual-core 1GHz processor for efficient multi-tasking. Telstra said the device supports Wi-Fi speeds up to six times faster on 5 GHz than its existing business gateway, as well as offering better Wi-Fi coverage for more people simultaneously.
