Telstra blocks 6.5 million suspected scam calls per month

Australian operator Telstra has announced it is doubling down on efforts to address scam calls and is now blocking around 6.5 million suspected scam calls a month on average from reaching end customers. Telstra also says that scam volumes fluctuate day-to-day but on an active day for scammers, and the operator is sometimes blocking up to 500,000 calls a day before they can potentially defraud end customers, up from the 1 million scam calls that Telstra was blocking on average per month previously.
