Telstra gains most mobile SIOs in 2013

In 2013, Telstra picked up over 400,000 new services in operation (SIO), according to Roy Morgan Research. Telstra made SIO gains each quarter and is now nudging 40 percent market share. Optus's share remained relatively flat, finishing the year up 0.1 percentage points, but a downturn for its majority-owned MVNO Virgin has the group down 0.3 percent overall. Virgin's final quarter decline coincided with a solid improvement for Vodafone, its chief competitor in the younger market. The share for MVNO Amaysim on the Optus network rose 0.6 percentage points in the year, representing a 43 percent
