Telstra to shut down dial-up services in December

Australian operator Telstra has decided to retire dial up internet services "for the small number of its customers who still have them". The decision id due to the expanded availability of ADSL/ADSL2/VDSL, cable, fibre, wireless and satellite broadband services, including over the National Broadband Network, and the continued decline in the use of dial up, the company said. Dial-up services will be retired by December.
