Telus revenues up 5% in Q1 after acquisitions, suspends dividend hike on Covid-19 uncertainty

Thursday 7 May 2020 | 15:15 CET | News
Canadian operator Telus reported first-quarter revenues up 5.4 percent year-on-year to CAD 3.7 billion, and EBITDA increased 2.2 percent to CAD 1.4 billion. The company said it saw growth in wireline data service margins, an increased contribution from Telus International, including the acquisition of Competence Call Center, and health businesses, as well as higher mobile revenue driven by a growing subscriber base. This was offset somewhat by the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, which led to reduced roaming and shop closures, as well as a suspension in dividend increases.
