Thursday 31 May 2007 | 14:33 CET | News
Lithuanian telecommunications company TEO has begun the installation of a fibre-optic network, whose fibres will be installed upto the user's computer. The fibre-optic network will install optical fibres up to the user's computer which will increase the speed of services provided to the customer up to 1 Gbps. Over three years, TEO will invest more than LTL 100 million in the new optical access network. The fibre-optic network will enable users to enjoy different services through a single internet access line. It is not necessary to buy any additional equipment for internet access as an optical converter, required for the provision of this internet access, will be installed at the customer's premises free of charge. The residents of the 5 biggest cities of Lithuania will be the first to use the fibre-optic network and in Vilnius the provision of fibre-optic internet services will be launched in June. TEO's is also offering new fibre-optic internet plans like 'Basic Plus', 'Optimal Plus' and 'Premium Plus'.
