Tet suspends Russian TV channels due to EU sanctions

Tuesday 2 February 2021 | 10:56 CET | News
Latvian operator Tet has announced that, due to uncertainty about the copyright representation of certain TV channels and concerns about non-compliance with the EU sanctions regime, the company stopped showing the Russian TV channels PBK, NTV Mir, Ren TV Baltija, Kinokomedija and Kinomiks, replacing them with other channels. Despite repeated requests for information, Tet does not have access to legally substantiated information about the copyright holder of the channels in Latvia. Consequently, it is not possible to perform a proper risk assessment as required by applicable law.
