TF1, Eurosport plan to launch 3D channels next year

French private broadcaster TF1 announced at its first 'innovation campus' that it had entered talks with distributors to launch a 3D channel in 2011, carrying sports events and concerts, Les Echos reports. TF1 subsidiary Eurosport is considering its own 3D channel offering some of the 2011 Rugby World Cup games and maybe matches featuring France's national football team. For its part, pay broadcaster Canal Plus has already launched a 3D channel on which will start airing films at the start of 2011. TF1 aired five FIFA World Cup matches from South Africa last summer.
