TF1 puts SVoD plans on hold - report

Tuesday 11 June 2013 | 12:14 CET | News
French broadcaster TF1 has put on hold its plan to launch a SVoD service with counterpart M6 due to the costs and the failure of negotiations to determine how to share costs, BFM Business reports. TF1, which is currently trying to cut its expenses, calculated that it would cost at least EUR 50 million to offer SVoD, notably to sign distribution agreements with US studios. France's SVoD market is very small, representing only EUR 27 million of revenues in 2012, according to GfK and NPA.
