TF1 secures national football rights

Commercial broadcaster TF1 has won the rights to show French national football matches for another four years. The contract with UEFA gives the channel the rights to all matches of the national team in 2014-2018. According to the paper L'Equipe, the company will pay EUR 140 million for the rights to the 40 matches. M6 reportedly also took part in the bidding, but was not willing to pay so much.
